Steve Jobs
Today I am going to tell you about another great man who changed the world.
He's Steve Jobs, the founder of the Apple company we all know.
Let's get to know him a little bit first.
Stephen Paul Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California. He was born to Abdul Fattah Jandali and John Carol Sheebel, who had abandoned him to adopt, who was then unmarried. He was raised by a working class couple, Paul and Clara Jobs, and grew up in Mountain View, California. He attended Homestead High School in Cupertino, California, and in 1972 attended Reed College, Portland, Oregon. But after one semester he dropped out of school to pursue the courses he was interested in.
He worked with video game producer Atari to raise enough money for a trip to India and has been a Buddhist ever since.
On his return to Cupertino he returned to Atari while his old friend Steve Wozniak was still working. Wozniak was building his own computer, and in 1976 Jobs sold 50 never-before-seen computers to a local store, and on the strength of the order alone he was able to borrow those parts and build the Apple Eye out of nowhere. Funding was followed by Apple II in 1977, and shortly after Apple Computer was founded. Apple II is credited with initiating the personal computer boom. Due to its popularity, IBM was quick to develop its own computer. By the end of production of the Apple II in 1993, it had sold over 6 million units.
Inspired by a trip to the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) in Xerox, Apple engineers began working on a commercial application for the graphical interface ideas they saw there. As a result, Lisa was expensive and never was a commercial success, but in 1984 another Apple computer was launched using the same WIMP (Windows, Icon, Menu, Pointer) interface concept. An advertisement for the 1984 Super Bowl, directed by Ridley Scott, was released to the Macintosh PC (in fact, the ad appeared on a local television channel in Idaho on December 31, 1983, and premiered in theaters in January 1984. The premiere was "Super Bowl on January 22nd". During).
Jobs was fired from Apple in 1985 and immediately started another computer company, Next. Its machines were not commercially successful, but when Jobs returned, some of the technology was later used by Apple.
Meanwhile, in 1986, Jobs bought the computer graphics group from Lucasfilm. The group was responsible for creating high-end computer graphics hardware, but began producing innovative computer animations under its new name, Pixar. Their first title, Luxo Kanish (1986), was critically acclaimed and Pixar signed with Disney in 1991 (1995).
Apple bought Next in 1996, and Jobs returned to Apple to become its CEO. With the help of British-born industrial designer Jonathan Ive, Jobs brought his own aesthetic vision back to the patient company and began to turn its fortunes in 1998 with the release of the iMac. The company's MP3 player, the iPod, was adopted in 2001. Launched the iPhone in 2007 and joined the iPad in 2010. The company's software music player, iTunes, has evolved into an online music (and eventually movie and software app) store, popularizing the idea of downloading entertainment content "legally."
In 2003, Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and underwent surgery in 2004. Despite the success of this operation, he became increasingly ill and underwent a liver transplant in 2009. He returned to work after a six-month hiatus, but eventually resigned in August 2011. After another medical leave period that began in January 2011. He died on October 5, 2011.
